Dr. Vajira Senaratne

One of the country’s topmost interventional cardiologists, Dr. Vajira Senaratne is also a consultant cardiologist at the Institute of Cardiology in Colombo, specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology. While having pioneered Percutaneous Transvenous Mitral Commissurotomy (PTMC) in Sri Lanka, he is also considered one of Sri Lanka’s leading contributors to the advancement of the field of interventional cardiology.

Always striving to introduce new techniques and cutting-edge technology to his patients, Dr. Senaratne is one of the most trusted cardiologists in Sri Lanka and has a very wide patient base. He is also a past President of the Sri Lanka Heart Association and has authored several publications on the subject of cardiology.
